Section 5 Using cookies / Google Analytics and social network plug-ins

When you use the portal we (and potentially other ad servers e.g. service providers commissioned by us for marketing and advertising for the portal) use cookies. These are small data packets that are saved on your hard drive with the help of your browser. The cookies used are generally so-called “session cookies”, which are automatically deleted as soon as you leave the portal.

However, in the event of a login we set a cookie that is then stored to enable automatic login (permanent cookie).

You may refuse the installation of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

This portal also uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer to help the website analyse how visitors use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will normally be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the USA. If IP anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address will be truncated beforehand within a member state of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the United States and truncated there. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google will not associate your IP address transferred within the framework of Google Analytics with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. Furthermore, you can prevent Google's collection and use of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in using the following link:

You will find more information on terms of use and data privacy at https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html and at https://www.google.com/intl/de/analytics/privacyoverview.html.

In addition, we use Google Analytics for statistical purposes to analyse data from AdWords and the DoubleClick cookie. If you do not want this you can deactivate it using the ads preference manager (https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/?hl=de).

Information on Google Remarketing: Google and third party providers place advertisements on websites on the internet. Stored cookies are used for placing advertisements on the basis of a user’s previous visit to this website. If you do not want this you can deactivate it using the ads preference manager (https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/?hl=de).

Our portal may contain programs (plug-ins) from social networks. The following applies to this – using the example of Facebook: These programs are operated exclusively by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (Facebook). On our portal the plug-ins are marked with the Facebook logo or the “like” add-on. When visiting a website on our portal that contains this kind of plug-in, your browser establishes a direct connection with Facebook servers, which in turn transmit the content of the plug-in to your browser and is integrated by it into the displayed website. In this way the fact that you have visited our website it forwarded to Facebook. If you are logged into Facebook during your visit to our website via your personal user account, Facebook can associate the website visit to this account. By interacting with plug-ins e.g. by clicking the “like” button or leaving a comment, this information is transmitted directly to Facebook and saved there. If you want to prevent this kind of data transmission, you must logout of your Facebook account before visiting our website.
The purpose and extent of data collection by Facebook and further processing and the use of data by them as well as your rights and setting options to secure your privacy can be seen in Facebook’s privacy policies (currently accessible at: http://de-de.facebook.com/privacy/explanation.php).

This website uses the Lucky Orange analysis service to improve user friendliness and user satisfaction. Mouse clicks and scrolling activity may be recorded. Keystroke information on this website may also be recorded. However, this is not personalised and therefore remains anonymous. Lucky Orange does not record this data on sites that do not use Lucky Orange. You can deactivate the Lucky Orange service at luckyorange.com/disable.php. However, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

Some of our services and content (editorial and promotional) only work/can only be accessed if we can determine your approximate location. For this purpose we determine the approximate location of your device using your IP address and provide you with suitable editorial and promotional content. Location data is only used to access this content. It cannot be used to identify you personally. This data is not permanently saved or passed on to third parties. Furthermore, we do not create any profiles using location and/or movement data.

Section 6 Scalable central measurement procedure

Our website uses the scalable central measurement procedure (SCMP) from the company INFOnline (https://www.infonline.de) for determining key figures about use of our websites. Measurements are collected anonymously. To re-recognise computer systems, the SCMP range measurement alternatively uses either a cookie with the label ivwbox.de or a signature, which is generated from various automatically transmitted information from your computer. IP addresses are not saved during this procedure and are handled in their anonymised form. The range measurement was developed in consideration of data privacy. The aim of range measurement is to statistically calculate the frequency of use and the number of users to a website. At no time are individual users identified. Your identity is always protected. You will not receive any advertisements via the system. For websites that are members of the German Audit Bureau of Circulation (IVW www.ivw.eu) or are participating in the ‘internet facts’ study by the Working Group for Online Media Research (AGOF www.agof.de), usage statistics are published monthly by the AGOF and the Working Group for Media Analysis (ag.ma - www.agma-mmc.de) and the IVW and can be seen at http://www.agof.dehttp://www.agma-mmc.de and http://www.ivw.eu. In addition to publishing measurement data, the IVW also regularly checks that use complies with the rules and data privacy. More information about the SCMP can be found on the INFOnline GmbH website (https://www.infonline.de), which runs the procedure, the data privacy website of the AGOF (https://www.agof.de/datenschutz) and the data privacy website of the IVW (http://www.ivw.eu). You can object to data collection by SCMP using the following link: http://optout.ivwbox.de
